Vanmorgen vertrokken in Fuerteventura voor onze derde trip naar Praia. Het was een van de langere trips die we planden 8 u 45, en zijn dus goed geland. Natuurlijk zijn er weer fuel problemen, want het is nog wat zuidelijker. Hier bestaat visa wel, maar het machientje op de luchthaven dat werkt al 3 weken niet meer. J Problemen zijn er om op te lossen en dat maakt het boeiender. Ik begin stilaan te begrijpen wat de mannen van de 15 de Wing soms meemaken.

De vlucht zelf is vandaag vlot verlopen heel de trip goed weer gehad, wel wat nevelig, maar daar vliegen we toch boven, het zicht blijft alleen wat beperkter dus veel foto’s kunnen we niet tonen.. Onze HF hebben we ondertussen ook kunnen testen want het bereik van  VHF radio’s is soms wat beperkt, meer dan wat gekraak komt er dan niet meer uit, en sommige Engelse accenten zijn zo al moeilijk te verstaan.

We zijn nu nog de laatste voorbereidingen aan het treffen voor de langste trip. Morgen vliegen we van Praia naar Natal in Brazillië. Hiervoor is het toestel uiteraard uitgerust met ferry tanks (extra fuel tanks in de romp). De te overbruggen afstand is 1463 Nm (
2709 km) en zal 12 u in beslag nemen. De pint nadien gaat ongetwijfeld goed smaken.

We left this morning in Fuerteventura for our third trip, we were heading to Praia this time. The trip took about 8 h 45. This journey wouldn’t be interesting without new fuel problems. As we are heading more south, this is more Africa. Visa does exists, but unfortunately the visa machine of the airport is broke since 3 weeks !!! But problems are there to be handled with. We had a plan B, this worked well.

The flight itself was smooth and uneventful, we had fair weather during the trip but with a lot of haze. This is no problem for the flight itself, it is only difficult to make nice pictures. Today we could also test our HF radio because the range for VHF to limited and we only hear noise.

This evening we are still preparing the flight for tomorrow from Praia to Natal in Brazil. The aircraft is equipped for this with ferry tanks in the fuselage to increase the range. The trip distance will  be 1463 Nm (2709 km) and the trip will take approximately 12 h 30.
